Thank you for your interest in mentoring with the MaiYaPRODIGY Mentoring Program! We are currently accepting applications for our program which will start in June 2016. All volunteers will be expected to complete our training and screening before starting the mentoring process.

Please note that although the MaiYaPRODIGY Program is an international program, we are currently accepting applications for international mentors who will be mentoring students in Bangalore, India.

The MaiYaPRODIGY Mentoring Model uses a one-to-one, site-based mentoring model.

• Mentors and mentees meet in a supervised environment at a set time and location.
• Each mentor is matched with one mentee, who will choose his/her mentor.
• Mentors must commit to mentoring for one year.
• Sessions take place in Bangalore, India.
• A site supervisor will be present at all mentoring sessions to assist the mentors and mentees.
• The site supervisor represents partner organizations.
• The site supervisor is your main level of support, and is available as a resource to facilitate activities at these mentoring workshops.

Applicant Prerequisites.

All of our mentors must be 18 years of age or older, and each applicant must make a one-year commitment to mentor a youth during two, two-day workshops, tentatively scheduled for June and December 2016. In addition, all applicants must pass a criminal background check conducted by the MaiYaPRODIGY Mentoring Program collaborating partners. Application Process.

• Please also provide three professional references.
• Upon review of your application, completion of the criminal background check, potential mentors will be scheduled for an approximately 30 minute phone interview.
• Upon selection and approval by the group advisory board, mentors will be notified by phone/email to start the mentoring program.
• Mentors must attend and participate in a Mentoring Workshop held in conjunction with the initial Student Mentoring Workshops in June and December 2016.
